Located just north of the equator, this thriving nation of 30 million people is separated into two distinct regions, West Malaysia, or Peninsular Malaysia, and East Malaysia. The western region of the country is part of mainland Asia and forms part of the Malay Peninsula, between Thailand and Singapore.
