Patong Beach, with its throngs of international tourists offers an exciting array of markets and shops. The vibrant bazaar type atmosphere is filled with goods ranging from crafts, sarongs, scarfs and beach gear to fruits and vegetables. While the area is filled with souvenir shops and market vendors, some name brand stores can also be found here. Patong also features several small shopping centres as well as a modest department store.
Phuket City features department stores and shopping centres as well as traditional markets. One of the most inviting shopping districts is Phuket Walking Street in Phuket City’s Old Town district. This weekly market takes place on the recently renovated Thalang Road, an elegant thoroughfare lined with historic buildings. The market features a mix of Thai and regional Asian goods and crafts.
