With over 300 islands to choose from and a long list of tours and activities to enjoy, the only problem in Fiji is deciding what to do first. Whether your holiday plans include diving, snorkelling, fishing or just lying on the beach with a good book, you have definitely come to the right place. Visit the markets and enjoy the fresh sea food, fruits and vegetables or keep your eye open for that perfect hand-made gift or souvenir. However you choose to spend your time, Fiji will entice and beguile. Here are just a few suggestions on some of the must see attractions around the gorgeous Fiji islands. 
 
Denarau Island
A trendy island escape just minutes away from Nadi International Airport, Denarau features fantastic beaches and numerous resorts and hotels. The area can be a bit on the touristy side but for those looking for an area with everything from shopping, spas, restaurants, beaches and water sports; this is the perfect place to throw down your towel ocean side and relax for the day. 
 
Mamanuca Islands
Catch a ferry from the Denarau Marina where the leisurely boat ride will transport you to the beautifully pristine atolls of the Mamanucas. If you enjoy diving or snorkelling, the Mamanuca Islands’ crystal clear waters feature some of the best coral reefs found in Fiji. Sailing kayaking and wind surfing are all popular activities around the alluring islands and the warm water is always perfect for a swim. If it’s a bit of rest and relaxation on your agenda, enjoy the peaceful solitude on one of the many palm tree lined stretches of sand.
 
Navua River
Rafting or kayaking through the beautiful Upper Navua Conservation Area reveals much of the island’s lush tropical beauty. Designated a ‘wetland of international importance’, this winding river flows through dense rainforest and around rocky cliffs within the rugged mountains. This is the perfect place to experience Fiji’s amazing eco-system, where you can see much of Fiji’s native flora in its beautiful natural habitat.  
 
Thurston Gardens and Fiji Museum
If a rafting or kayaking tour through the interior of Vinti Levu isn’t on the cards, head to Thurston Gardens just outside Suva. This beautifully landscaped park established in the 1880s highlights many of Fiji’s most beautiful native flowers, plants and trees. An elegant clock tower and band-stand are two historic garden features dating back to 1918, each offering a charming old world touch to the grounds. The Fiji Museum is located within the gardens and holds and extensive collection which highlights Fiji’s indigenous culture as well as several archaeological artefacts dating back over 3,000 years. One particular item of interest on display is the rudder from Captain Bligh’s HMS Bounty, the ship known for its famous mutiny in 1789. 
 
Colo-i-Suva Forest Reserve
Experience the natural tropical beauty of Fiji in the Colo-i-Suva Forest Reserve. Close to three square kilometres is size, this lush rainforest habitat offers a rare opportunity to experience the island’s abundant flora and colourful bird life from its inviting hiking trails. Admire the alluring waterfalls that empty into natural pools of clear, cool waters. If you care to take a dip in these inviting pools be sure to where a swim suit underneath.
